River Pines Store
Here's Dwight ('cbr954rr') chillin' outside the River Pines store. This was taken circa 2001, when I had the Givi hard luggage and tall windscreen on my 'bird, and Dwight was tooling around on his pristine '90 NT650 Hawk GT.

View from Mt. Zion - Fog-shrouded valley
Here's a quick panorama of the Sacramento valley, shrouded in fog - this was taken at Mt. Zion in Pine Grove.
The mound in the distance is Butte Mountain. The tower is a microwave communication tower.

1998 CBR1100XX At Mt. Zion - Head shot
Here's a photo of my '98 'Bird sitting up near the fire tower. It's a great lookout spot with a nice view of the Sacramento valley area.
I really like the low front profile of the 'Bird, even though it means that it provides almost no wind protection... unless I'm in a tuck.

I really like the lighting on this photo. Even though it's a bit overexposed, the bright background lighting makes for a nice contrast, the bike really stands out.

Ride Report - Sutter Creek Road from Sutter Creek to Volcano, California
A springtime ride through the Sierra Foothills can be scenic, pleasant and challenging at the same time.
Heading out of the town of Sutter Creek in Amador County, just off Highway 49, to the unincorporated town of Volcano, via Church Street (which turns into Sutter Creek Road just outside of Sutter Creek), you will encounter a mixture of gentle, cleanly paved sweeping curves, tight and narrow corners, and a few roughly paved sections.
