2008 Harley-Davidson Models Have Been Announced

New Bikes and New Features. The long awaited 2008 Harley-Davidson models were released today. There are some exiting new bikes and some very nice features added to existing models. To honor Harley-Davidson's 105th Anniversary there will be 14 models available with a limited-edition 105th Anniversary styling package.

Harley-Davidson is stepping it up with 3 radically styled factory customs. The Dyna Fat Bob, the Rocker and the very cool Rocker C are exciting new additions to the diverse Harley-Davidson model line.

2008 Buell Models

Check the links below for information on the 2008 Buell models - we'll add information on the various models as it becomes available.

It looks like Buell has at least one major change in the line-up this year: the Buell 1125R - which uses a Rotax-designed engine making 146 HP and decked out with lots of trick components.

Here's some info on the all-new 2008 Buell 1125R. It looks like a smokin' hot ride!

  • Compact, water-cooled 72-degree DOHC V-Twin specified by Buell and designed in collaboration with BRP-Rotax -146 HP, 82 lb-ft torque, 10,500 RPM redline
  • 6 speed transmission with straight-cut gears
  • Wet, multi-plate, Hydraulic Vacuum Assist (HVA) slipper-action clutch
  • Frame spars double as a 5.6-gallon fuel reservoir
  • Fully-adjustable Showa rear shock/spring unit features an external piggyback reservoir

2008 Harley Davidson models certified for sale in California

We've scoured the documents filed with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) by Harley-Davidson, certifying each model to be sold within California for the 2008 model year. Here are the results:

Sportster models

All 1200cc
XL1200 C (Sportster Custom)
XL1200 L (Sportster Lowrider)
XL1200 R (1200 Sportster Sport)
XL1200 N (Sportster Night)
XL1200 C ANN (Sportster Custom Anniversary)
XL1200 L ANN (Sportster Lowrider Anniversary)


2008 Suzuki Motorcycle Models

According to roadracingworld.com, Suzuki has announced changes to the 2008 motorcycle line-up, including 14 new or revised models, including the Hayabusa GSX1300R, B-King GSX1300BK, and GSX650F.

The Hayabusa is reported to have a 12% increase in power output which equates to 195 horsepower. The frame is revised and a sturdier swingarm is part of the package. MSRP is $11,999.

The B-King looks interesting. Basically a Hayabusa motor in a 'standard' (well, not really) package (semi-naked, more upright riding position).
