2006 International Motorcycle Show in San Mateo
Dwight and I will be at the 2006 Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in San Mateo the evening of Friday, December 15... We'll be wearing shirts bearing the RoadCarvin' logo, if you see us, come on over and say hi!
We'll post the best photos on RoadCarvin' as soon as we can.
Update December 19 - we've posted some of the photos here.

I'm on the road to Montana for a photo shoot. In a minivan, unfortunately. Too much gear, wrong bike for the job.
Leaving Reno on 80 east, we see Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) and sheriff cars everywhere. On a twenty mile stretch outside of sparks, dozens of patrol cars - and along the highway, we see at least seven 'enforcement actions' - people pulled over at the side of the road - in every case, two or three NHP vehicles ("back up"). One incident had a guy with a small rented U-Haul trailer being frisked by NHP.

We got back to Jackson at about 7pm tonight. It was a good ride, a bit cold up at the top of 88 (near the lakes) but warmed up as I dropped to lower elevations. (Stupid me, left my heavy gloves in the motorhome with our 'support crew'.)
I'll be uploading new photos and story items as time permits over the next few days. The photo gallery (which has a few dozen photos at present) can be found here.
Street Vibrations 2006 in Reno, Nevada
We're attending Street Vibrations in Reno this year. We'll be riding up 88 the morning of Thursday, Sept. 21, and taking a bunch more photos than on our previous visit. We'll be there for the entire event, and hope to provide daily updates here (if we can find a good internet connection.)
Update: Check out the Street Vibrations photo gallery with recent photos!
Hot August Nights 2006
My wife and I decided to do an overnight trip up to Hot August Nights in Reno. I'd been to several Hot August Nights events in the past and wanted to see if it was as crazy as ever. And from what I could see, it was.
We didn't see many motorcycles except for a handful of Harleys and metric bikes in various parking lots and the occasional bike jetting by on the highway; it's possible that we missed out on larger collections of motorcycles due to our late arrival.

I came across this site while searching for photos of front tire wear. I didn't find any photos I was interested in, but I did find some interesting BMW lore. Information on BMW wheel balancing, tire wear, what those 5 dimples on the BMW rims are for, etc.
According to the information on the site, the site owner, Duane Ausherman, started BMW of Marin in San Rafael, which he sold in 1975.
If you are a BMW enthusiast, check out these pages.
