Here's an article on instructables.com that shows how to make a DIY helmet cam mount. It's not intended for motorcycle use, but there are some useful bits in the article.

I've not tried out the instructions. In any case, this might be useful info for someone looking for a 'custom' helmet cam solution.

Tapeless and loving it

Here's a backpack rig on rainydaymagazine.com that doesn't require tape -- it uses a Neuros MPEG4 Recorder 2 to store video direct-to-digital in MPEG format.

The article also describes a rechargeable power pack setup and remote control.
