The Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup is the latest casualty of the financial meltdown. Reductions in partner support led to the tough decision to cancel the season. The spirit of the Rookies Cup remains and American riders Benny Solis of North Hollywood, California, Hayden Gillim of Owensboro, Kentucky and Jake Gagne of Ramona, California will race around the world in the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

Gillim had 2 wins and was the runner-up.

Gagne won two races during the 2008 season and was the top finisher for the U.S. Team in Indianapolis and Valencia.
