2008 Corona AMA Superbike Finale - Sunday Action

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca always has mild weather in the fall. Perfect weather, light crowds and 4 races is a great way to spend a Sunday.

Close Pass - Peris & Szoke: Chris Peris makes a close pass on Jordan Szoke in turn 8a on the last lap.

AMA Superbike

Ben Spies captured his third straight champion ship by a wide margin over teammate Mat Mladin and the rest of the AMA Superbike field. Suzuki is dominant even on a tight track like Laguna Seca. We'll see what changes DMG makes for the 2009 AMA season.

AMA Supersport

  • Ben Bostrom - Yamaha YZF-R6 - +0.231
  • Josh Herrin - Yamaha YZF-R6 - +0.904

AMA Superstock

Aaron Yates dominated the AMA Superstock class with five 1st place and five 2nd place finishes. Jordan Brand teammate Geoff May finished the season in second place. Suzuki GSX-R1000's dominated against the Honda CBR1000RR riders. I wish the factory riders would leave this class to "privateers" so they have a chance to win some races and possibly get better sponsorship.

Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup

The Red Bull U.S. is a great series for young riders 13 to 17 years old. The competition is close on the KTM 125's and highlights rider skill. I really enjoy watching the Red Bull Rookies.
