Viosport Adventure Cam 3 arrived...
We received our Viosport Adventure Cam 3 bullet camera. The unit appears to be finely crafted, and sturdy enough to take a reasonable amount of abuse, which is necessary when used on a sport bike or other motorcycle.
The mounting system included with the basic camera is pretty weak, though. It's basically nothing more than a section of extruded synthetic rubber, into which you slip the camera; the base of the mount is attached with standard Velcro. (The Velcro mount is probably sufficient to hold the camera mount securely; it's the mount itself that I'm interested in improving.)
I'm searching for a sturdier mount so that I can secure the camera to my helmet, or to the bike's fairing or other location without fear of losing the camera or damaging the case. If I find something that works well, I'll let you know.
I plan on mounting the camera low on the engine cowling, or under the nose of the fairing. Ought to get a few great shots that way.
Stay tuned; we'll be reviewing the camera in the next few weeks.
